At Homeward Bound, we provide a structured and empowering journey that helps individuals experiencing homelessness transition to tiny home ownership.

Homeward Bound offers a three-phase program that provides safe shelter, personal development opportunities, and a clear path to sustainable homeownership.
Starter Village is the first step for individuals entering the Homeward Bound program. It provides immediate, safe, and dignified shelter while equipping participants with the tools to build a better future.
Housing:
Individual 8' x 10' house pods equipped with a bed, chair, fold-down desk, and a private tiled space with a sink, toilet, and shower.
Secure, community-based living environment that fosters responsibility and stability.
Services Offered:
Personal mentorship and goal-setting
Basic life skills training and support services
Community integration and participation opportunities
Eligibility Requirements:
Willingness to participate in the program and abide by community guidelines
Commitment to self-improvement and program participation
Transition to the Next Phase:
Upon successful compliance with Starter Village guidelines, participants are eligible to apply for Good Samaritan Village, where they can reside in their own tiny home.
Good Samaritan Village is the next phase of the Homeward Bound journey, offering participants the opportunity to live in their own tiny home while they work toward ownership through volunteer service and financial stability.
Housing:
Fully furnished tiny homes (under 399 sq. ft. interior living space) with a kitchen, living area, bedroom, laundry space, a large loft and a full bathroom.
Community-based environment that supports self-reliance and continued growth.
Services Offered:
Career readiness and financial literacy training
Continued mentorship and goal tracking
Opportunities for community engagement and skill-building
Volunteer Service Commitment:
Participants must complete
2,000 hours of community service
, which equates to 20 hours per week over two years.
Volunteer work will be assigned in collaboration with local charities and nonprofit organizations.
Income Stability Requirement:
Participants must secure a sustainable income source through employment, social security benefits, or other verified financial support.
Transition to the Next Phase:
Upon meeting all program requirements, participants will achieve full homeownership.
The final step of the Homeward Bound journey is achieving homeownership, where participants gain independence and self-sufficiency. Graduates of the program will officially own their tiny home and move it to a permanent location.
