At Homeward Bound, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to achieve stability and self-sufficiency. As a transformative initiative under Do Good On Purpose, our mission is to provide individuals facing homelessness with a structured pathway to tiny home ownership, offering them the tools, support, and guidance they need to rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.
By combining shelter, community service, and financial independence, we empower individuals to transition from homelessness to homeownership in a way that fosters long-term success and sustainability.
Our mission is simple yet profound:
To end homelessness by providing a clear path to homeownership through service, support, and sustainable living.
Through structured programming, mentorship, and housing opportunities, we aim to help individuals regain control of their futures and take meaningful steps toward lasting self-sufficiency.
We offer a three-step approach that provides safe shelter, personal growth opportunities, and an achievable path to homeownership.
Participants begin their journey in Starter Village, where they reside in compact, yet fully functional house pods (8'x10') equipped with:
• A comfortable bed
• A fold-down desk and chair for productivity
• A mini fridge, microwave and mini split air unit
• A private bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower
• Access to communal services and mentorship
Participants focus on stabilizing their lives, meeting program requirements, and preparing for the next phase.
After demonstrating compliance with Starter Village guidelines, participants transition to
Good Samaritan Village, where they live in their own tiny home (under 399 sq. ft. living space) while fulfilling their community service requirements.
Residents:
• Work toward completing 2,000 hours of volunteer service
• Secure sustainable income sources (employment, benefits, etc.)
• Receive continued guidance and access to support services
Once participants meet all program criteria, they achieve the life-changing milestone of homeownership.
They can:
• Officially own their tiny home
• Relocate to a permanent community or location of their choice
• Continue their journey toward financial and personal stability
Unlike traditional shelter programs, Homeward Bound offers:
🏠A Clear Path to Ownership
