A Path from Homelessness to Homeownership

A Journey Toward Stability and Ownership

At Do Good On Purpose, we believe in second chances and the power of purpose.

Homeward Bound: A Path from Homelessness to Homeownership is a groundbreaking initiative designed to help individuals experiencing homelessness transition into proud homeowners of tiny houses. Through structured support, meaningful volunteer service, and sustainable living, this program offers a life-changing journey to stability and independence.

How Homeward Bound Works

Step 1: Starter Village – A Fresh Beginning

Participants start their journey in Starter Village, where they live in compact and thoughtfully designed house pods that provide:

• A bed, fold-down desk, and chair for personal space and productivity.

• A private tiled bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.

• Access to communal resources and support staff.

Compliance Requirement:

Participants must adhere to program rules, maintain progress, and actively work toward the next step.

Step 2: Good Samaritan Village – Tiny Homes, Big Opportunities

After demonstrating compliance in Starter Village, participants can apply to move into a fully furnished tiny home (under 399 sq. ft. interior living space) in Good Samaritan Village.

While living in their tiny home, participants will:

• Continue working toward 2,000 hours of community service (approximately 20 hours per week for two years).

• Build sustainable income through employment, social security, or other verified sources.

• Access ongoing mentorship and resources to ensure success.

Step 3: Homeownership – Achieving the Dream

Upon completing the required hours of volunteer service and meeting all program requirements, participants will achieve the life-changing milestone of homeownership.

Program graduates will:

• Officially own their tiny home.

• Relocate their home to a permanent community or location of their choice.

• Embark on a path of financial stability and self-sufficiency.

Why Choose Homeward Bound?

1. Holistic Approach to Stability:

Homeward Bound addresses more than just housing needs. It fosters personal growth, life skills, and community engagement.

2. A Real Path to Homeownership:

Unlike temporary housing programs, this initiative offers a tangible reward: the ownership of a home.

3. Community-Centered Living:

Participants build connections in Starter Village and Good Samaritan Village, surrounded by peers and mentors who provide encouragement and support.

4. Empowerment Through Service:

The program empowers individuals to give back, contributing to their communities while rebuilding their own lives.

5. Sustainable Living:

Tiny homes are designed for affordability, efficiency, and sustainability, making them a practical and environmentally friendly solution.
